A real local flower shop

The Orangery is a simply unique shop located in the heart of Kenilworth. Founded in 2010 as a florist first and foremost, the Orangery has grown into a green oasis and a true botanical treasure trove. Thoughtfully curated by the owner Gabrielle the shop sources and stocks beautiful blooms, specialist plant species and complimentary homeware heavily inspired by nature. The team is a bunch of creative collectives distinctively different in styles, meaning no two arrangements are ever alike yet we all equally share a love for florals.

When mother nature allows us, we grow our own british stems locally this is just one of the small ways we are working towards being a more sustainable and eco conscious business and also as a small local independent we love getting involved and supporting our little town.

Come and visit us for an especially enticing experience (when Boris says so) and until then let us deliver delightful bouquets and green goodness directly to your door (or your loved ones door). Stay safe and hope to see you very soon.

The seed was sown from the very beginning as I grew up completely surrounded by flowers.

My Dad an importer and my Mum a flower arranger, couple this with a strong creative itch it was almost inevitable that I would end up working with flowers myself.

Floristry has been my craft for over 20 years now and despite venturing down other avenues at various times, I always end up back in amongst the flowers. I love them and floristry is definitely my vocation. It is the changing of the seasons and the infinite combinations of colour, form and texture that keeps me hooked. After all these years I still feel excited when a bunch of the most exquisite blooms arrive at the shop. It’s hard to pick favourites, but if pushed then a speciality rose, hydrangea or peony would all be in contention.

I joined The Orangery a few years ago and what a special place to be part of. Gabs allows us each to showcase our individual styles and ideas which has been a dream. I particularly love creating bouquets and doing wedding work and feel my style is very natural with an emphasis on texture.

So it’s fair to say that my roots are firmly imbedded here and I continue to grow. Flowers are indeed my happy place.

It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together...

And after nearly 4 decades I still love my job . It all began when I used to pull all the flower heads off of my mums precious garden and present them to her!!

I guess from that moment on I knew I loved nature and pretty things . I qualified as a florist in my teens and from then on have worked in many different florists throughout the country and developed various styles . I’ve been a member of the O team for several years now and love the diversity of flower and plant choice on offer . So after nearly 40 years what still inspires me?

Well that’s easy the wonder of nature.

'If you look the right way you can see that the whole world is a garden'...Is the last line to the enchanting film which captivated me as a girl and kindled my interest for nature, The Secret Garden. After finishing flower school in my teen years, I swapped the floral world for the big wide world and worked in travel, visiting many countries and always checking out the local talent (flora and fauna!). Like a bee to a dahlia, my favourite of nature's showgirls, I was drawn back to a career in floristry, so retrained in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter and bloomed with an independent events and weddings flower business for five years. Fast forward to 2020 and certain my flowering days were entirely wilted, I was lucky enough to fall into the green hands of a floral fairy godmother from Kenilworth and now call The Orangery my flower home and the bouquet queens my flower family. Together with the O Team we whip up botanical beauty and spread floral magic far and wide across Warwickshire. I love the freedom granted to me (as I am a little wild at heart) and the organic ethos of The Orangery. I think now more than ever the importance of wellness and self care is crucial and although a little biased, I truly believe that nature is a healer and flowers are the tonic!
